Not really a guitary question, but does anyone from the Reading area know of any decent hotels there - I need to work at the uni for a couple of days

Crowne plaza by caversham bridge is pretty good - nice location you can walk over the bridge to some nice boozers & returaunts.
Check out what gigs are on @ South St & at the pub called the Retreat. I think National steel are playing there this week?

We certainly are playing at the Retreat, St Johns Street, this Thursday and you're in luck, Alan, it's the very week I'm giving away a free Kennet Sheiks CD to anyone in the audience who can prove they come from 'Penparcau'...

Hello Alan,
Just realised that you've moved. The Dano is still holding up well and I've been tempted by some of the other stuff you've had for sale (especially the TW73). South Street is indeed a great venue. I caught Michael there in July with Ron and the gang (aka National Debt). Can't give you much advice about hotels as I stayed over in Bracknell at the Coppid Beech Hotel (I was visiting the Farnborough Air Show).
All the best,
Joe (aka Mairena Red)
