Hi toshrock1, Is L100 the complete number? Shine On Michael It is actually stamped 100L MM but not the gold print I've seen on others.

I don't know this number series. It may be something that Robin at Busker did, but not to my knowledge. Can you post a photo. Also, what do you mean by "gold print on others"?

Hi Michael, the number is on the top of the headstock same as yours, but on your own photos at the start of this thread 5th photo down your number ending 08 is in gold print at least on my iPad it is, I don't know how to get an image on here yet but it's stamped exactly like this 100L MM There is not a year stamped like yours hence my enquirie The stamping does not seem as deep into the wood as yours looks, could this perhaps have been a prototype as I know you haven't been dealing with Busker for some time I don't have any probs with guitar, I have about 25 and just like to know a bit of their history perhaps for someone in the future, eh that's different guitars not resonaters, would be good if you can shine some light on this cheers

Hi again Michael, I've been in touch with Robin at buskers and he gave me loads of helpfulll information regarding the headstock number, in brief the last two or three batches of lightning strike he received from the China were stamped in their workshop, and they did not have a year number, Robin and his workmate used to stamp them way back but sometimes they did not have the Master Date at hand so some were special numbers some with owners initials etc, so the moral is there is no real definition of where and when as far as serial numbers go, but that is pretty much the same as Nationals etc, I do know that my guitar was the last of the last batch he had in late 2013 so that's good enough for me,there must be some forum members that haven't even considered their serial numbers, must just be sad me, ho ho, anyway Robin was great on strings and other things regarding the guitar which was most helpful, Rock on.

Hi to everyone that has ordered MM guitars for a May delivery. I have just been informed that due to a delay at the shipping company, the May shipment is running four weeks late! I am really sorry, but there is nothing I can do to make the guitars get here any quicker.
It has caused me a whole series of problems too, as everything was in place to deal with this shipment in May.
I will keep everyone informed and when they arrive I will get the set ups done as quickly as we can.
Once again, I am really sorry about this, but some things are out of mine and the factory's hands.
Thank you for your patience and especially for your loyalty.
Shine On Michael.

Hello Michael. I made an enquiry about a MM Lightning earlier. The household budget is temporarily under 'economic austerity measures !' so I've got to delay gratification for a wee while. Just wanted to let you know as a courtesy that I've postponed the purchase but hadn't forgotten about it. Many thanks. Later... Marc LOWE

I see that there are 2 new MM resonators for sale on the 12th fret in Toronto with some statement that they are dealers... Not sure if this authorized or intended for discussion...anyway it may be an opportunity for folks in the USA to obtain one without a lot of added cost.

Well spotted Fred. As of this morning, Twelfth Fret are indeed my North American dealers. I will post proper details about this over the next couple of days. They literally put them out on the shop floor at 9am this morning.

Though I never purchased from them, 12th fret has a nice "just in" link, and their prices seem to be sensible.

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- PICKUPS: I get a lot of enquiries about pickups...... There are some pickups available for resonator guitars, but to be honest, supplies are presenting a real problem at the moment. The best and the only one that gives a true cone tone, is the Highlander iP-1X Inline, but at around £270 fitted, it is expensive and currently very difficult to order. There is a Schatten NR-2 resonator pickup, it works and costs around £100 to buy. Then there is the German handmade Flatbucker magnetic pickup. This is a good product that gives a powerful electric resonator sound, it costs 187 Euros (£130). Whilst I am perfectly willing and happy to get a price for these to be fitted, I would prefer that the pickup itself be obtained by you and simply supplied to Dave King Acoustics for fitting. I would suggest you discuss this with me before ordering. I still maintain that the best way to amplify a resonator guitar is with a standard Shure SM57 microphone. At around £80, it is not expensive and compared to everything I have tried, it will give the most realistic sound from your resonator guitar. It is not as loud as a pickup and it takes a little getting used to, but it is a pure and real tone. I do have Highlanders fitted in my own guitars, but on 99% of my concerts I use a Shure SM57. I never travel without one!
