From interest for sales purpose, I think a relic look would be well received , but I don't like the starkness of the neck or a worn-in look as reliably adding to the attractiveness to players - some may prioritize a smooth neck surface for playing.
If you decide there's enough interest to manufacture with that effect maybe simulating aging with a stain to darken the bare wood - but that's just a personal cosmetic idea. It may make no difference.

Hi Harriet
I have actually had a few made like this with brand new shiny necks. Then we can age or not age the necks to suit what the customers prefers.
Thanks to you and everyone for their input.

I really dislike relics in all products and this extends to guitars. I do have old guitars with all the archeology that comes with them over 90 years of playing. I doubt there are many factory made guitars sound as good after 40 or 50 years as they were not built to mature the same as luthier made instruments. Having said that I have a 1938 Kalamazoo arch top that sounds incredible, is all original and in unbelievable condition. I treat it very gently and never gig with it. I played a 1930 Gibson L00. Would I buy a Murphy Lab relic Gibson L 00, no. Even if it is not a fake it is a phony. The Gibson L 00 ebony on the other hand has tempted me. But back the MM fiddle edge. It is not a phony it is a real guitar, made to emulate the specs of the original but has definite MM characteristics. It has its own soul and mine will no doubt accumulate the archeology (dings wear scratches etc) by being played over time. Guitars need playing to make them sound better, not sanding. The only reason to buy a battered guitar is if you are frightened of your own dings and scratches
