pete1951, please do upload [at least] an audio demo of all PUP wire crossing possibilities upon completion. your upload of 12hrs ago addresses the unasked/unanswered question of who can even see fret marking dots in the center of the fingerboard unless they play lap-style or have camelopardalis peralta genetic markers. [or sit in the audience] keep up the good work, mitchfit 3mm dot are quite large ,but I’m glad I chose them. Yesterday I went to an electric Jam with a guitar with very small side dots. There were flashing lights that were not very bright. Very glad I didn’t try the guitar out at a gig. May put LED lights on the next one! Pete Spot the dots

ello I read with interest about your fret markers and playing in low lighting the rear guitar an MM I may add had an accident and a young local luthier[ Here in the frozen north wastes] replaced the fretboard for me with markers I stipulated so tickled pink with them I asked the same guy to make me a 46mm wide neck for my tele no probs now, I can play almost in the dark and thats just as well with the way things are going I must apolgise for the condition of the MM but it has a hard life and is used all the time,As a footnote to Michael my wood body blues 28 I got a few months ago is playing in like a dream its my go to guitar just wish I had bought one sooner,Kind regards to all.

Next thing for an adjustment was the headstock. The machine heads were moved in a little ( to reduce the angle of the string/nut for more stable tuning) and a name badge , a pearloid 60s National Style , similar to ones I put on my Glenwood solid body and Glenwood shape resonator . I may put Kluson m/heads on so have not done a full cover-up job on the scars left by the old position Pete

As requested by mitchfit, here is a short (just under 3 mins) video of the main sounds of my old guitar
Pete
As I say in the video, the difference in tone between some settings is subtle, and I think ,if the amp is being driven hard, will be hard to tell apart. I have a short gig on Wednesday so will try it out properly. I certainly will keep the ‘half coil’ tone controls but the switching at the moment is over complicated ,and there is more to go wrong ( and more to remember) than on a more ‘normal ‘ instrument .

Well done Pete, a useful selection of toanz. A very good demo video too. Unboxers eat your hearts out.

Thanks for the positive feedback, I did this video straight into an iPad using the internal mic, so the sound quality isn’t the greatest. The subtle difference between the flipped coils tone controls doesn’t come out as well as it could. I am about to do one about playing in stereo, hopefully I will use my son-in-laws mics for a better tone. Pete
