Hi Michael, what's the idea of the bullet/dome end slide?, and does the tip of the finger need to be touching the inside of the dome? So does the length of the bullet/dome slide need to be a big consideration? Kim

I didn’t even realise that there was such a thing - anyone care to guide the uninitiated, what is “double conical” and what are the benefits? Tapered on the outside and tapered on the inside with slightly different wall thickness at each end. Benefit to me is that since I've started using a Mateus Rose bottleneck which is tapered differently outside and inside as described above, I find it much easier and less strain on my ageing wrist and tendons. I know it's only fractional but it does make playing a lot easier for me. ...just wish Ben would do me one in German Silver,

Or, Jan and his daddy at DaddySlide would make one for you. I am sure they would. Shine On Michael

My stainless steel double conical slide has arrived from Ben.
It is absolutely superb - gleaming, sounds great - up there with Mr. McWee's DB Mateus Rose glass slide.
Buy with confidence people.

Shine On Michael For some years now I have used a bullet ended slide. As Michael says, there is not much point using it for standard slide, though I like the look of it and it gives a lift more weight to the end of the slide which I have got used to.I do also play a little on the kitchen sink ( a Dobro style instrument with an unusual body) and use the same slide. Ok, it’s not as heavy as it might be , but I only need one slide and it’s a compromise that works for me. Pete At least 2 other slide players in my home town now use similar slides though nether play lap style.

I just got my second and third slide from Ben. A brass one and a phosphor bronze one to go with my original stainless steel slides. Very pleased.

I got one of Ben's slides off Lew a few years ago - an ally bronze. Beautiful in every respect - in fact I might hop over to Ben's website now to see about one of the steel ones.

Thanks to Pickers Ditch finding and old chunk of German silver in the garden shed, I also have a new slide made by Ben Burrows. His work is absolutely excellent. Ben had not worked with this material before, but it doesn't appear to have caused any problems for him. Really lovely work. Thanks to Ben and PD.
