I've taken advantage of ebay's £1 seller fee deal to put my El Trov.up for sale. LINKHere's a clip of me playing it in one of the many juke joints of leafy middle class Berkhamsted complete with authentic hat. Just an overhead SM57 going straight into a bottom of the range Canon camcorder.

We mustn't detract from what this thread is about, which is that Graeme is selling a National El Trovador. However, I think it is great to hear forum members playing. This is the first time we have heard Graeme and it must not be the last.
Graeme, you play and sing that song really well. Lovely! I only have one comment because we don't want to confuse anyone, but you are not playing in the key of E minor, you are playing in D minor.
Good luck with the sale
Shine On Michael.

You're quite right Michael. It was three years ago I made that video.

Graeme, I wasn’t trying to be clever, just didn’t want anyone to get baffled by it. I don’t think I have perfect pitch, but I do know the sound of certain open tunings, notes and chords, and I could hear that you are in D, rather than E. Makes no difference because you still played and sang it really well.

Shine On Michael I knew you were not trying to be clever Michael and are quite right to point out my error and thanks for the compliment. I can't remember when I last played in open 'E' if ever.

On the Internal pic on Ebay there are two bolts or screws in the neck block. What's going on there ?

I answered Davey's question via ebay but for the benefit of others who may be interested the screws were fitted before my time and probably are there to help strengthen/stabilise the neck by pulling the heel to the body.

Hi Graeme !
You playing is great ! The guitar sounds ace too !! If I wasn’t already swamped with Nationals, I’d be sorely tempted.
Might consider putting on or two up for sale myslf, but have never managed to decide which one(s) I could bare to part with ! Probably a tricone or two (NRP/Beltona/ or even the 1931 roundneck Style 1).
