I am wondering if anybody has any information on Amistar. I am searching for a 14 fret wood bodied Resonator and one has come up. All the videos seem to be of `metal` bodied Resonators. So any info on Amistar would be welcome, especially wood bodied. Cheers.

They changed name a while ago after Franta (the owner) died. Can't remember what they're called now. I really like amistars - and the cones are wicked. Check out the vid bottleneck john did of his (metal) amistar. TT

I have a brown sugar(wood body ) and a custom tri cone with their pick up systems in both . The electric sound of both are extra cool -best plug in resonator maybe and I have a couple highlanders that sound more acoustic plugged in - but the amistar has a great plugged in sound of its own . Very worthy -my humble opinion .

I used to own the 14 fret that is currently on eBay. It was a nice playing guitar, but not quite up there with my M14. One thing to note is that it doesn't have traditional National style neck stick, if that's a consideration.

Thanks for that, I have just found out that the nut width is 44mm so it is a bit to narrow for me. Cheers.
