Congrats to Cerys Matthews on taking over from Paul Jones BBC blues show. She should do a great job, and maybe even improve on the old format. TT

I listen to her Sunday Morning show on R6 which I enjoy. This should be good, too.

I have been listening to Cerys Matthews' show on BBC 6 Music for a long time. Cerys does a great job and I am sure that she and her producer will bring a breath of fresh air to the show.
I have known and been supported by the Paul Jones Rhythm & Blues Show for over 30 years. The first of many live sessions I did on Paul's show was in 1987. I have known nearly all the producers and still have fond memories of communicating with Sue that ran the office back in the 80s and early 90s.
This has been talked about for a while. Paul's show was the only one of the three specialist shows that was still produced by the BBC. Jamie Cullum's Jazz Show and Mark Radcliffe's Folk Show are both produced by outside production companies. It is the way the BBC works these days.
I look forward to hearing Cerys present the BBC Radio 2 Blues Show.

Cerys as well as being Welsh has links to Nashville, so it should be good to hear some welsh Americana. I seem to remember the pianist who gigs at the crooked billet in stoke row fits that description. Any help with his name Michael??

Cerys did a show (radio I think) about the Blue Horizon record lable and it was excellent, well researched and presented. I will look forward to her on the Blues program.

I think it is important to be aware that the presenters do not choose most of the music that is played on their shows, that is done by their producers.
