Lots of the photo links have disappeared from posts in this thread. When I get a spare ten minutes I will tidy the thread by deleting posts that have lost their photo attachments.
It is a great thread & well worth bumping!

Hello there, I'm new to this forum that I've known a few years back. I just want to add this picture of a proud reverend (Garrett seems to be is name) with his wife (and her bible, I assume) and his W serie Triolian (14 fret out of the body)... This picture was on sale on the bay a few weeks ago... I play a similar exemplar so that I was well surprised to see this photo !

From the UCLA Library Digital Collection, the Los Angeles Times Aloha String Quartet performing for radio in 1927. From the Field Trip South blog (part of the Southern Folklife Collection at the University of North Carolina), here's Roy Acuff and his Crazy Tennesseans with Clell Sumney on dobro.

Here's a photo I bought on Ebay USA last year. It seems to be a publicity pic as they've got new guitars, shirts, boots, jeans, hats and belts. Anybody recognise them ? If you click on it it goes a bit bigger. I'll do a bigger scan if anyone wants a closer look. If I Photoshop them a bit do you think I can get it verified as a new photo of Robert Johnson ?

"Le bataillon des guitaristes" 1941/43 - Bir Hakeim I had a mail the other day from a Tahitian woman, who's the father, Robert Pihahuna was a soldier (in this troop) during WW2, fighting against Rommel army at Bir Hakeim. (this pic comes from the cover of the Lieutenant-Colonel BROCHE's book ) After the war he played the Hawaiian guitar in a trio, performing the first part of Django Reinhardt 's shows in France. Interestingly in this recording you can clearly hear a resonator guitar as rhythm guitar, is that the 34/35 style "O" from the photo? Or might be a "Beuscher" resonator? le bataillon des guitaristesAnyway, the 34/35 style "O" from the cover might surely be one of the first to be introduced in Europe!
